Born on December 28, 1944, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Edythe was the daughter of the late Wilbert C. and Vilma E. (Hakala) Welch.
Edythe worked for many years with the former New England Telephone Company before continuing her career with the Milford School System as a Teacher’s Aide. She found great joy in spending time with her extended camping families, the Williams and Kenyons, as well as taking trips to the casino with friends and visiting the beach.
Above all, Edythe cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and grandpups, who brought her immense happiness.
She is survived by her son, Craig John Gaudette and his wife Leigh Ann of North Oxford; her daughter, Renee Elizabeth Underwood and her husband Brandon of Milford; her sister, Diane E. Dauphinee of Attleborough; and her four grandchildren, Rachel Gaudette, Hallie Gaudette, Evan Underwood, and Lily Underwood. She was predeceased by her brother, Alan C. Welch.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford. Visiting hours will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar Street in Milford.
