1943 - 2026
Ed was born November 27, 1943, in Framingham, Massachusetts. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Kennedy (Witkowski). Together they built a life centered on family, loyalty, and love. He also leaves behind his three wonderful children and their spouses: Lauren and Shannon Jacobs, Colleen and Gary Jewers, and Adam and Heather Kennedy.
Ed was a proud and devoted grandfather to Rachel Sears (and husband Nick), Devyn O’Loughlin (and husband Tom), Nate Jewers (and significant other Emily LaHair), Brendan Kennedy, Declan Kennedy, and Caleb Kennedy, and a cherished great-grandfather to Isla O’Loughlin. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Parks; sisters-in-law, Lynda Chysna and Elizabeth Witkowski; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick W. “Doc” Kennedy; his mother, Marjorie Kennedy (Benner); his big sister, Anne Fairbanks (Kennedy); and his brother-in-law and best friend, Robert “Bob” Chysna.
Ed never met a stranger. He had a natural warmth and an easy way of connecting with people, always ready for conversation. He loved reminiscing about his old motorcycle days, sharing his knowledge of fixing cars, and playing pitch with anyone willing to face him. A huge animal lover, especially of his dogs and horses, Ed passed that love for animals down through generations of his family.
He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his gun collection, hobbies that reflected his appreciation for the outdoors and hands-on craftsmanship. At his core, however, Ed was a family man, something made especially clear as his family gathered close around him during his final days.
The family invites all who knew and loved Ed to join them for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton.
Please omit flowers; your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
