1951 - 2025
Born on September 24, 1951 at Fort Meade, Maryland, Duwain was the son of Arthur and Dorothy Weibe (née Doyle), who predeceased him, along with his younger brother, Greg Weibe. Raised in a United States Air Force family, Duwain’s childhood was shaped by constant movement and cultural richness. He spent his formative years at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, Tachikawa Air Base in Tokyo, Japan, and March Air Force Base in Southern California, before settling in Maryland.
He was a graduate of Lansdowne High School and went on to earn a degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, where he also distinguished himself as a quarterback on the football team.
In 1975, Duwain married his wife, Cissy (née Claire Fox), and together they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and shared adventure. Over more than 50 years of marriage, they lived in Maryland, Texas, and California before settling in Severna Park in 1985—a community they cherished for nearly four decades.
Duwain was a devoted husband and proud father. He is survived by his wife, Cissy, and three sons: Matthew (Lauren), David, and Aaron (Maritzaida). He was a deeply loving grandfather, known affectionately as “Pop Pop” to his six grandchildren: Annalise, Madelyn, Cole, Annika, Landon, and Rita.
Family was always at the center of Duwain’s life. He was a constant and enthusiastic presence for his children—cheering on Matt and Dave through years of soccer, from the Green Hornets through college, and supporting Aaron’s musical journey at Greensboro College and later with U.S. Air Force Bands. He took immense pride in each of his sons and the paths they chose.
Duwain was also known for his dedication to service and community. He served as the volunteer President of the Greater Severna Park Athletic Association (GSPAA) for ten years throughout the 1990s, helping to grow the organization and expand opportunities for youth participation in sports. Raised in the Lutheran tradition, he carried forward values of faith, humility, and service throughout his life.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the American Kidney Fund.
