March 30, 1954 — October 3, 2025
Born in Worcester, Denise was the daughter of the late Donald Ramsey and Marion (Arenburg) Bjork, and was raised and educated in Upton.
Denise worked for many years as a receptionist at Alternatives in Milford, but her greatest passion was her lifelong love of horses. An avid equestrian, she frequently participated in hunter-pacer trail rides and joyfully shared her knowledge with her grandchildren, teaching them to respect and care for horses. She also loved to travel and seek out new adventures—especially amusement parks—with her best friend and the love of her life, Charlie.
A talented crocheter, Denise spent countless winters creating hats, scarves, and blankets for family and friends, each made with care and love. Her warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her father, Norris Bjork Jr. of Florida; her daughters, Tonya Kanerva of Oxford and Tina Jackson of Douglas; her stepdaughter, Jamie Francis of Woonsocket; and her personal chef, Kevin Morse of Douglas. She also leaves behind her brother, Donald Ramsey of Grafton; sisters, Donna Ramsey of Florida and Sheila Wilson of Upton; five grandchildren—Aubrey LeClair, Maranda Borges and her husband Edward, Daniel Jackson, Whitney Morse, and Charlie Francis; and three great-grandchildren—Marceline Coger, Benjamin LeClair, and Madeline LeClair.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton. A moment of reflection will take place at 6:45 p.m. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Denise’s memory may be made to the Bay State Trail Riders Association.
