Born in Milford on September 3, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Virginia (Bates) Johnson. Deborah was raised in Medway and spent the past 45 years living in Franklin.
She was a graduate of Medway High School and later earned an accounting degree from Dean College.
Deborah dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Town of Franklin School Department, working in the central office where she was respected for her commitment and professionalism.
Outside of work, Deborah found happiness in life’s simple comforts. She loved relaxing by the pool, tending to the beautiful flower gardens she carefully cultivated, and spending time at the beach with family and friends. She also cherished cozy moments at home and treasured every opportunity to gather with loved ones.
A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, Deborah centered her life around caring for her family. She was especially known for her incredible cooking and unforgettable holiday meals that brought everyone together. Her warmth, generosity, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Deborah is survived by her sons, Chris Pittman of Franklin and Timothy Pittman and his wife Aimee of Warwick, Rhode Island. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, August, Tobias, and Winifred; her siblings, Wesley Johnson of Bourne, Judith Moore of Bellingham, and Pamela MacDougall of Medway; and her former husband and longtime friend, Fred Pittman.
She was predeceased by her son, Matthew Pittman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Noon at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street, Franklin.
Burial will follow at Union Street Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to Noon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Deborah’s memory may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation at the Lustgarden Foundation.
