David Loomis Burr, 64, of Hopkinton
1962 - 2026

Dave was raised in Chester, Connecticut, and built a life defined by service, dedication, and steady compassion. He earned a Bachelor of Philosophy from the University of New Hampshire and later a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Georgia.

In his earlier years, he worked as an EMT in Connecticut with Hunter Ambulance, where he later served as Director of Human Resources. He also held several positions with the State of Connecticut, working in the judicial branch.

An outdoorsman at heart, Dave found joy in hiking, kayaking, and working with his hands. During college, he worked as a stone mason — a craft he refined over the years and used to add lasting beauty to his family home. He proudly rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge for three years and was an avid cyclist.

Dave was known for his quick wit, funny one-liners, and steady kindness until the very end. He was a loving, loyal, and responsible man.

In addition to his wife, Polly, he is survived by his sons, Caleb and Joshua Burr, and his stepchildren, Suneeta and Hersh Tandon. He was predeceased by his first wife, Martha (Wissemann) Burr.
