1928 - 2026
Charlotte worked for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston and Fenwal in Ashland before becoming secretary to the principal at Hopedale Junior-Senior High School, where she worked for 33 years before retiring in 1996.
She was deeply involved in her community. Charlotte was a member and past president of the Walter H. Tillotson Post American Legion Auxiliary in Hopedale and a longtime member of Union Evangelical Church, where she served as clerk and financial secretary and was a member of Tri-Amity. She also volunteered for many years at Milford Regional Hospital and served on the Hopedale Village Cemetery Board of Trustees.
Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Kenneth S. Dec and his wife, Suzanne, of Mendon, and Kevin J. Dec and his wife, Lisa, of Taunton; her daughter, Karen J. Casey and her husband, Michael, of Hopedale; four grandchildren, Damon Casey and his fiancé, Rhonda Spaulding, Jake Dec, Jonathan Dec, and Jillian Dec and her fiancé, Dante Drew; and several nieces. She was predeceased by her sister, Maggie Allen.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23rd at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, located at 42 Congress St. in Milford. Burial of ashes will follow at Hopedale Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Charlotte asked that family and friends honor her memory by performing an act of kindness for someone in need.
