Carolyn Lang, 67, of Holliston
1958 - 2025

Born Carolyn Therese Comiskey in 1958 in Evanston, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Gary and Ann Comiskey, and sister to Kathleen Corrigan.

Carolyn received a BFA from Antioch College and worked as an artist after moving to the Boston area in 1980. Focusing on printmaking, she worked at the Experimental Etching Studio in lithography, etching, and monoprinting while continuing to paint in acrylic. Her work was featured in group shows at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Boston Public Library, and other venues.

In 1986, she married Dan Lang, and in 1993 they moved to Holliston to raise their daughter, Amanda.

Though diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Carolyn faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. She continued to work, travel, and enjoy time with friends and family—often seen around town with Amanda on her scooter.

When her illness made printmaking difficult, Carolyn pursued a new passion, earning a Master’s in Library Science with a specialty in Archive Management from Simmons College. She went on to work at Pine Manor College and for the Archdiocese of Boston.

On Christmas Eve in 2004, while visiting her parents, Carolyn suffered a serious head injury that led to significant mobility and speech challenges. After a series of hospitalizations and rehabilitation stays, she became a resident of The Boston Home in Dorchester. There, she continued to thrive—creating art, attending events, and enjoying life to its fullest.

Carolyn’s resilience, warmth, and creative spirit touched countless lives. She brought love, light, and beauty into the world and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.

Donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to The Boston Home, 2049 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA 02124, or online at www.thebostonhome.org.
