Beverly E. (Taft) Harding, a cherished matriarch, and beacon of wisdom, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the venerable age of 97 in Scarborough, Maine, after a short illness. Born on November 22, 1927, in Milford, Beverly was a woman of intelligence and thoughtfulness whose roots ran deep in her community and her family history.
Beverly was the loving wife of the late Phillip W. Harding, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love. She was a proud graduate of High School, where she began cultivating her lifelong love of knowledge and community service. Her professional career was marked by dedication and leadership, as she served with distinction as the Postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in Mendon, a role that allowed her to touch the lives of many in her community.
In addition to her work with the Postal Service, Beverly was committed to preserving local history as the Superintendent of the Swandale Cemetery Association for many years. Her work ensured that the memories of those who passed before were honored and kept alive for future generations.
Beverly's lineage connected her to the former 27th President of the United States, William Howard Taft, a fact that filled her with pride and a sense of responsibility to uphold the family's reputation for public service and leadership.
