Bev grew up on a poultry farm in Charlton, where she developed a lifelong love for animals and nature. She graduated from Charlton High School and Becker Junior College. After college, she worked as a medical secretary at the Joslin Clinic in Boston before returning to the Worcester area, where she later worked as a secretary at the Worcester Rehabilitation Center. While she held various part-time roles, she devoted herself primarily to her family.
A faithful member of Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church in Whitinsville for more than 60 years, Bev built lasting friendships and was deeply involved in church life, including volunteering and participating in Bible study. She also dedicated many hours to supporting Whitinsville Christian School while her children attended.
Bev cherished her family above all else and viewed her children and grandchildren as her greatest blessings. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her flowers, birdwatching, and going for walks in places like Buffumville Dam, the Cape Cod Canal, Jamestown, and Colt State Park. She also loved reading and learning throughout her life. Bev and her husband Hank shared a love for travel, taking trips throughout New England, visiting national parks, and enjoying time in Florida.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Overlook in Charlton and Faith & Family Hospice for the compassionate care provided in her final months.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, 25 Cross Street, Whitinsville, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM.
