Arbuthnott R. “Budd” Blackwood, 92, of Uxbridge
1933 - 2026

Born July 9, 1933, in Boston, Budd was the son of the late John S. and Amelia (Rattray) Blackwood. He was educated at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine at Orono. Budd built a long and successful career in banking, working for several Boston-area banks before retiring as Auditor for Rockland Trust Company.

Budd and Alice shared a deep love of travel. Together, they explored the country in their beloved Airstream trailer, participating in many caravan trips with the Wally Byam Airstream Travel Club. They also treasured their winters spent at Traveler’s Rest Resort in Dade City, Florida, where they enjoyed warm weather, good company, and many rounds of golf.

A true family man, Budd cherished time spent with his wife and children. He also found great joy in canoeing, camping, and spending time with his Shetland Sheep Dogs, especially his beloved Ollie.

In addition to his wife, Budd is survived by two daughters, Jane Blackwood of Uxbridge and Christine Sweeney and her husband Stephen of Norwell. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan Blackwood and his brother John “Jackie” Blackwood.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main Street, Uxbridge.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Valley Chapel, 14 Hunter Road, Uxbridge.

Burial will follow at Howard Street Cemetery in Northborough.
