1928 - 2026
Anna was born in Dunbeck, Slovenia, which was then part of Yugoslavia. Her parents, Francis and Amalia, owned and operated a small grape vineyard and orchards of fruit and nut trees. Anna and her sister Rozina helped tend the grapevines, harvest the grapes, and sell the harvest at the village market. Her education ended after eighth grade following the outbreak of World War II and the occupation of her village. Anna spoke four languages: Slovene, Serbo-Croatian, Italian, and later English.
Toward the end of the war, Anna met and married Angelo Lasorsa, who was serving in the military and stationed nearby. She came to the United States in 1947 and settled with the Lasorsa family in Milford.
Anna worked at several hat factories in the Milford area before later working at the Telecron plant in Ashland. She and Angelo moved to Brewster in the mid-1980s and remained there until 2020, when illness brought them back to Milford.
While living on Cape Cod, Anna developed a love of walking and could often be seen along Route 124 on her daily five-mile walks, a routine she maintained into her late 80s. She was also known for her gardening and cooking, particularly her homemade ravioli and lasagna. Family and friends remembered Anna as caring, loving, and generous, with a particular affection for children.
Anna is survived by her son, Attorney Joseph Lasorsa of Milford; her grandson, Dr. Matthew Lasorsa of Winter Garden, Florida; and her great-grandchildren, Matteo, Isabella, and Giovanni Lasorsa, all of Winter Haven, Florida.
