1940 - 2026
Born in Milford, Massachusetts, on July 17, 1940, Anita was the daughter of the late Savino and Pauline (Kessler) Monica.
She was a proud graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1958, and went on to earn her nursing degree from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester in 1961. Anita dedicated her entire professional life to Memorial Hospital, where she worked from 1961 until her retirement in 2001. At the time of her retirement, she served as a nursing supervisor, a position in which she was highly respected by both her colleagues and the patients she cared for.
Anita found happiness in life’s simple moments. She enjoyed browsing yard sales, watching birds, and, in recent years, sharing lunches with close friends. She also loved traveling with her husband in their motorhome and spending treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, William D. (Dan) Cilley and his wife Meghan of Boca Raton, Florida, and Christopher J. Cilley of Upton, along with her beloved grandchildren, Monica, Nicole, Reese, Maggie, and Emma.
Anita also leaves behind her extended family, including her in-laws Paul Cilley and his wife Nancy, Mildred “Dolly” Bacon, and her sister-in-law Nadine Cilley of Florida.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Michelle Cilley, who passed away in February of this year.
In accordance with Anita’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Upton Fire & EMS Ambulance Association Ambulance Fund, located at the P.O. Box 1012 in Upton.
