Adelino Jose Lage Borges, 64, of Milford
1961 - 2025

Born on September 17, 1961, in Soutelo, Portugal, to Silvia and Domingos Borges, Adelino—known lovingly as Lino—was a man who embraced life’s quiet joys and held his family at the center of everything he did.

Lino was known for his exceptional soccer skills and his striking presence, but even more so for the qualities that defined him: his infectious laugh, unwavering loyalty, generosity, and genuine nature. He had a gift for making those around him feel at ease, supported, and deeply valued.

A man of simple pleasures, he found contentment in watching soccer games, enjoying his morning cup of coffee, and traveling back to his homeland of Portugal. More than anything, he cherished time with those he loved most. His greatest happiness came from being a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, and son.

Lino leaves behind his devoted wife of 34 years and partner of 45 years, Stephanie L. Borges of Milford, and his children: Natasha L. Borges of Uxbridge and Justin D. Borges, along with his fiancée, Nathalia Aguiar of Northbridge. He is also survived by his five brothers—Jose Borges and his wife, Fatima; Rui Borges and his wife, Maria do Ceu; Armenio Borges and his partner, Mary Desilets; Daniel Borges and his partner, David Hayter; and Jimmy Borges and his wife, Lisa—as well as his two sisters, Maria Monteiro and her husband, Manuel, and Mercedes Gandolfo. He was adored by twelve nieces and nephews and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Silvia Borges, and his father, Domingos Borges.

To know Lino was to adore him, and to be loved by him was truly an extraordinary gift.

A wake will be held on Sunday, November 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford, MA, followed by a private service on Monday, November 24.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
