Abhijit “AB” Kumar, 54, of Ashland
1972 - 2026

Born in New Delhi, India, AB was the beloved son of Drs. Vijai and Nandini Kumar and the devoted husband of Hina Patel, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage.

AB built a distinguished career in clinical research as a pharmacologist, contributing to important advancements in oncology, neurology, and vaccine development. Though respected professionally for his dedication and expertise, those closest to him will remember him most for the warmth, kindness, and joy he brought into the lives of others.

A proud and loving father, AB treasured his children, Lakshmi and Eshaan, who were truly the center of his world. Whether cheering from the sidelines as a passionate sports dad or cooking meals for his children and their friends, he found his greatest happiness in caring for the people he loved.

AB also lived life with tremendous energy and passion. An avid endurance athlete, he approached everything he did with commitment, determination, and enthusiasm. His spirit, generosity, and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his parents, wife, and children, AB is survived by his sister, Gita Kumar and her husband Casey Craig; his beloved goldendoodle, Bella; and many loving extended family members and friends.

A private family cremation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Woodlawn North Purchase Crematory, 825 North Main Street, Attleboro.

A Celebration of AB’s Life, including a service and reception, will take place from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Connect Church, 80 Beacon Street, Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in AB’s memory to support the creation of a CPR Education Program at Ashland High School: CPR Education Program Fundraiser.
