Westborough’s Transfer Station for Pay-As-You-Throw is moving this summer but not too far away. At their meeting last week, the Board of Health Director told the Select Board that the Harvey’s/Waste Connections Transfer Station on Hopkinton Road will be moved away from the commercial area to behind the main office building in order to make it safer for residents to get in and out by avoiding the big trash trucks. The Community Advocate reports since Pay-As-You-Throw started last July 1 the amount of waste collected has gone down nearly 500 tons and the amount of recycling collected has gone up more than 400 tons.
