WESTBOROUGH — A road considered prone to crashes may soon get a major safety upgrade.

Town officials are reviewing construction bids for a $7 million project to reconstruct Otis Street from Route 9 to Smith Parkway. Officials told The Community Advocate the area has seen significant commercial growth while remaining residential, increasing traffic and safety concerns.

The proposed project includes a 10-foot-wide shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, a new signalized crosswalk, and a traffic signal near Target to improve traffic flow and safety.
