Westborough Misses Out on State Grant for BWALT Design Work

WESTBOROUGH – Westborough will not receive a $400,000 state grant that would have helped fund design work for the next section of the Boston Worcester Air Line Trail (BWALT).

The town’s Director of Planning told the Advisory Finance Committee last week that the funding fell through for the portion of the trail running from Otis Street to Park Street.

According to the Community Advocate, there was no official explanation for why Westborough was passed over for the MassTrails grant, though the Planning Director noted the state agency has faced some recent budget cuts.
