Westborough Considers Changes to ADU Zoning Bylaws Ahead of March 22 Town Meeting

There could be changes to how Westborough allows accessory dwelling units. An article on the warrant for the March 22 Town Meeting would bring the zoning bylaw on ADUs more in line with state regulations. The Community Advocate reports ADUs could be built by right in single-family zoning districts but no more than one per property and they could not be short-term rentals like Airbnb. Officials say the point would be to have ADUs provide low-cost housing for adult children, senior citizens, or for extra income. Westborough Town Meeting is March 22 at 9am at the High School.
