A Westborough business is being offered millions to build a plant in Poland. In an announcement this week, Ascend Elements, which creates new batteries from the parts of old ones, says they’ve been offered $320 million to build a manufacturing plant by Poland’s Ministry of Economic Development and Technology. They reportedly want Ascend to build a facility that makes new batteries for electric vehicles. Ascend already has a deal with a Polish firm to open a plant in Germany as well as one in Poland but this new offer is for a second plant in Poland.
