The Wrentham Health Department says a positive sample for West Nile Virus has been identified from a mosquito sampling pool in Norfolk. The sample was collected from mosquito traps in the southeast quadrant of town on August 15.  The virus is most commonly transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito and while it can infect people of all ages, people over 50 are at higher risk for severe infection. They remind you to use insect repellent and avoid being outside at dawn and dusk.
