Some Hopkinton residents may have off-looking water for a few days due to a water main break on Downey Street on Sunday. Water-Sewer Manager Eric Carty said in a notice there may be discoloration off and on for several days in the surrounding area because with the below freezing temperatures crews were unable to flush hydrants right away. He suggests checking your water before using it. This followed a Friday overnight fire and fire hydrant use in the center of town which also added to water discoloration.
