FRANKLIN – Franklin Public Works crews are still working to repair a major water main break that disrupted traffic along Route 140.
The road remains partially open near Garelick Farms after the leak was discovered Tuesday. Officials say the break is the deepest they have encountered in more than two decades, located over 16 feet underground and beneath a concrete culvert.
Due to the complexity and safety concerns, the town has brought in a private contractor with specialized equipment to assist with repairs.
