MILFORD – The Pathway to a Better Life warming shelter has an urgent need for volunteers as dangerously cold temperatures move into the area.
Shelter officials say over the next 10 nights, temperatures are expected to drop between 27 degrees and minus 2 degrees, and they anticipate a significant increase in people seeking a warm, safe place to stay. They note that the shelter cannot operate properly without additional volunteer support.
The organization says the volunteer schedule is flexible, and even helping just once a year can make a meaningful and greatly appreciated difference. A volunteer training session is scheduled for tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Milford.
Anyone interested in helping can find sign-up details and additional information on the Pathway to a Better Life social media pages.
