FRANKLIN – Visitation is scheduled for Stephen LaPorta, the Uxbridge police officer who was killed in the line of duty last week after being struck by a truck on Route 146.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, with his funeral Mass taking place at the same location on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Law enforcement agencies from across the region are expected to attend, and members of the public are encouraged to line the procession route and fly flags at half-staff in his honor.
Officer LaPorta was also honored Sunday at Gillette Stadium during the New England Patriots’ playoff game, as tributes continue to pour in from communities throughout the region.
