By My FM’s Claire Beverly – Uxbridge’s Caroline’s Cannabis is reportedly getting $1.2 million from the Town after settling a lawsuit over the Town’s charging of a community impact fee. State law allows towns to charge cannabis businesses a fee of up to 3% of gross sales to cover costs the town incurs related to the business, but Cannabis operators have been fighting back in court saying they don’t add any more costs to towns than other businesses. Owner Caroline Frankel says it is unfortunate it took litigation for the Town to recognize it.
