By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Uxbridge Public Schools has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the state to help lessen the need for time-out rooms. Officials say the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education grant was won in a competitive process with Uxbridge one of only 19 districts to get it. Uxbridge’s Director of Pupil Services says it will help them create more inclusive learning environments to promote more positive behavioral strategies which evidence has shown should reduce the need for time-out rooms.
