UXBRIDGE – Uxbridge is joining several area towns in extending water use restrictions due to ongoing drought conditions across Massachusetts.
Town officials say all nonessential outdoor water use is prohibited between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
State hydrologists report that while rainfall levels were close to normal in September, a longer-term lack of consistent rain over the past several months has kept drought conditions in place throughout the state.
Milford and Hopkinton remain under full outdoor water bans at all times, while Hopedale’s restriction runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
