An emphasis on swimming safety is what brought out some US Olympians to Milford’s Goldfish Swim School. Milford’s Goldfish branch won a national swim school contest called the Safer Swimmer Pledge Program during which 1,400 members of the community took the Pledge to increase their water safety education. The Daily News reports the prize was a visit from four-time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Murphy and four-time Olympic medalist Cullen Jones who demonstrated some swimming techniques for the kids.
