By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Upton Board of Assessors is warning about scams on the rise that involve stealing land. They say Massachusetts has had two incidents recently of properties caught up in a scam where people who live outside of the US steal property for both vacant parcels and existing houses. They say you can sign up for a notification alert at the Registry of Deeds. The alert is free and will let you know when a document is recorded for your property. Get the details on the Upton Town website or call the Assessor’s office.
