SOUTHBOROUGH — Southborough Police say they arrested two drivers in separate incidents over the weekend on suspicion of operating under the influence.
The first arrest happened early Sunday morning just after midnight, when an officer stopped a man for speeding on Turnpike Road near Woodland Road. Police say the driver was clocked traveling 90 miles per hour in a 50 mile-per-hour zone. During the stop, officers reportedly discovered a case of vodka-based drinks in the vehicle, several of which were open.
Later that same evening, officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Oak Hill Road. Police say one of the drivers involved, a woman, showed signs of intoxication, including the odor of alcohol, and failed a field sobriety test. No one was injured in that crash.
Both incidents remain under investigation, and charges have been filed in connection with the alleged OUI offenses.
