By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The trial has been scheduled for next summer in the lawsuit of a former Milford man who is suing the Town of Milford and the Police Department after he spent 35 years in prison for a murder for which he was exonerated in 2019. Gary Cifizzari and his brother were both convicted in 1984 for the murder of their aunt Concetta Schiappa in Milford in 1979. Cifizzari was released from prison after new DNA evidence was presented that pointed to another man. He filed suit in 2022 on 10 counts including violations of the 14th Amendment, failure to investigate, malicious prosecution and conspiracy.
