Trial for Former Hopkinton Officer Accused of Child Rape Delayed to May 2025

By MyFM’s Claire BeverlyThe trial has been delayed for a former Hopkinton police officer accused of having a sexual relationship with a student when he was a school resource officer. John “Jay” Porter was scheduled to go on trial December 9 but the Hopkinton Independent reports it’s been moved to May 12, 2025. Porter faces three counts of child rape for the alleged incidents that occurred about 20 years ago when the alleged victim was a Hopkinton High School sophomore. This is the second delay for Porter’s trial.
