By MyFM’s Marissa Santos – In a recent announcement, Medway High School revealed that Ian Alexander, Alexandra Montana, and Ella Vargas have achieved the status of Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Recognized for their impressive performance on the 2022 Preliminary/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, these students will be receiving commendation letters from both the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and the district.
Ian Alexander, acknowledged for his intellectual curiosity, holds leadership roles in the National Honor Society and serves as a teaching assistant. Alexandra Montana, with a strong interest in marine biology, is a member of various honor societies, including the National Honor Society, Women in STEM, and Science Olympiad. Ella Vargas, known for her commitment to social justice and environmental sustainability, is a multi-year member of the Boston Children’s Chorus and excels in Honors and Advanced Placement courses.
