Testimony Begins in Trial of Former Hopkinton Officer Accused of Child Sexual Assault

Testimony begins today in the trial of former Hopkinton police officer John Porter who is facing charges related to sexual assault of a child dating to 2004 and 2005 when he was a Hopkinton school resource officer. Porter has pleaded not guilty to three counts. The jury was seated on Tuesday with twelve main jurors and two alternates. The Hopkinton Independent reports the accuser is currently expected to take the stand along with Hopkinton’s Police Chief and other Hopkinton and State Police officers.
