By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – A Whitin Intermediate School student has some burns and blisters on his hand after a school laptop overheated while students were taking a MCAS exam. Uxbridge firefighters responded and the school was briefly evacuated after the laptop started smoking, injuring the 6th grader. Officials say it was a school-owned Acer Chromebook that malfunctioned and all Uxbridge students with the same model will be asked to turn them in today for a safety evaluation. Acer is reportedly sending a technician.
