By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Stop & Shop is stopping cigarette sales. The company announced Monday they want to promote “community wellness” and will end tobacco sales as of August 31 at all 360 of their locations across the East Coast, of which 125 are in Massachusetts. President Gordon Reid said in a statement “our responsibility as a grocer goes far beyond our aisles.” In addition, some stores, including in Dorchester, are having a “buy back” Wednesday where the first 100 customers can exchange unopened packs for gift cards.
