A state trooper accused of shoplifting from several local stores including the Milford and Westborough Targets has been sentenced to six months’ probation. On Monday Zachariah Kent of Sutton entered what’s called an Alford Plea which is not admitting guilt but admitting there’s enough evidence to prove guilt. Prosecutors say in 2024 he used the self-check-out line at several local Target stores but skipped scanning a total of more than $1,000 in merchandise. The judge also ordered him to repay the money and stay out of all Target stores. He is currently suspended without pay from the state police.
