MENDON – Southwick’s Zoo is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved animals, white tiger Taj. Zoo officials say Taj passed away at 18½ years old, noting she was in the later stages of her natural lifespan and had recently experienced a significant decline in quality of life, including loss of appetite, arthritis, and weakness.
Taj was not only a favorite among visitors but also deeply cherished by staff. The zoo shared that keepers and veterinary staff were by her side every step of the way until she passed, and expressed gratitude to both their veterinary team and the community for their continued support.
