SOUTHBOROUGH — A routine traffic stop has led to drug trafficking charges after police discovered hundreds of prescription pills in a pickup truck.
An officer initially stopped Bruno Chaves for a broken taillight. Police say when the officer learned Chaves did not have a driver’s license, the vehicle was ordered to be towed.
During the required inventory of the truck, officers reportedly found 856 pills representing more than a dozen different medications, including pain relievers, antibiotics, contraceptives, and muscle relaxers. Chaves now faces drug trafficking charges.
