SOUTHBOROUGH – Some Southborough officials are beginning to look at how the town could start fulfilling the state’s affordable housing requirements tied to MBTA Zoning Districts.
The Planning Board has received an initial look at a proposed 60-unit apartment complex on Southville Road near the MBTA train station. According to The Community Advocate, the development would consist of two three-story buildings, with 10 percent of the units designated as affordable housing.
The developer’s proposal also calls for 116 parking spaces, though officials noted that the site’s proximity to the Sudbury River could make meeting parking requirements more challenging.
Town officials emphasized that the project is still in its early stages, and additional details and public discussion are expected as the proposal continues through the review process.
