By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Southborough Public Schools has gotten a nearly $13,000 grant from the state to support early literacy. Southborough is among just 18 school districts and collaboratives to receive a total of $1.2 million from the Appleseeds program which is a package of materials to teach foundational reading skills in kindergarten through second grade. It’s free to download for all school districts in the commonwealth, but the grant will fund the professional printing of the materials and professional development to enhance it.
