SOUTHBOROUGH — The Southborough History and Arts Center is now open to the public in its new location after a years-long transition.

After five years of planning and renovations — including delays caused by the pandemic — the Center has officially moved from the town-owned Flagg School to Fayetteville Village Hall on Central Street. According to The Community Advocate, part of the renovation costs were funded through the sale of a rare broadsheet copy of the Declaration of Independence, which had become too expensive to maintain and insure. The historic document was auctioned for more than $2 million, helping make the move and restoration possible.
