Shahidul Mannan and Matthew Kizner Elected to Hopkinton Select Board Amid Low Voter Turnout

Hopkinton voters have chosen Shahidul Mannan and Matthew Kizner to serve on the Select Board. The Town Clerk says unofficial results from Monday’s Annual Town show Mannan with 740 votes and Kizner with 805 votes. Third place finisher Jeff Doyle had 703 votes. The other contested race was for the Board of Assessors with incumbent Peter Mimmo keeping his seat with 747 votes over challenger Ted Mayer’s 416. Voter turnout was pretty low with the Town Clerk reporting 1,288 residents casting votes – about 10% of the town’s eligible voters.
