WESTBOROUGH – Developers behind a proposed apartment complex on Route 9 at Milk Street are asking Westborough officials for several zoning waivers as the project moves forward. At the most recent Planning Board meeting, the developer of the planned two-building, 388-unit complex requested approval to exceed the current four-story limit and construct five-story buildings instead.
According to The Community Advocate, the developers also want flexibility on open space requirements, proposing to split the required 60% into two separate areas—each still exceeding 30%—rather than one contiguous space. They are additionally seeking permission to provide fewer parking spaces than the bylaw mandates.
The Planning Board is expected to continue reviewing the waiver requests as part of the overall project evaluation.
