Reconstruction Underway at Milford’s Godfrey Brook

MILFORD – Work is now underway to rebuild the walls around Godfrey Brook, a major step in Milford’s ongoing flood mitigation efforts.

In September, the Charles River Watershed Association and the Town of Milford received a $600,000 grant to fund the project, which the Highway Department says addresses an area in critical need of repair.

Officials say the old stone walls had deteriorated, contributing to overflow and downstream flooding during heavy rain. The reconstruction is expected to be completed by spring and should not impact traffic in the area.
