By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Franklin High School Senior Maria Zaki has participated in the Poetry Out Loud state finals. Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of poetry by hosting a recitation competition for high school students. Maria was one of three finalists from twelve schools at the regional semifinals at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts on March 2 and moved on to the state final March 10 in Boston where the competed against 17 other students, reciting three poems.
