By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Westborough Board of Health says a dead bat found at Bay State Common Play Park last week has tested positive for rabies. Officials want anyone who may have come into contact with it on Thursday October 3 between 9am and 3pm to call the Board of Health for further guidance. Rabies affects the brain and spinal cord of mammals, including cats and dogs, as well as wild animals such as raccoons, coyotes and bats. It is treatable in people if you do so pretty soon but if not, it can get rather serious.
