WESTBOROUGH – A Westborough-based nonprofit is moving forward with plans for a large new distribution facility aimed at expanding its statewide impact.
Provision Ministry, Inc. is proposing a 28,000-square-foot distribution center on Technology Drive, according to a report from the Community Advocate. The organization says it has outgrown its current space after distributing more than $250 million worth of food and essential items to other nonprofits since its founding in 2017.
The proposed project would serve as a Massachusetts Distribution Hub on a 14-acre site, allowing the nonprofit to increase capacity and better serve partner organizations across the region. As part of the development process, Provision Ministry’s developer is scheduled to meet with the Westborough Conservation Commission today to review environmental considerations tied to the project.
If approved, the new facility would mark a significant expansion for the nonprofit and further establish Westborough as a regional center for large-scale charitable distribution.
