MILFORD – The owner of PiNZ bowling in Milford is facing federal charges connected to alleged misuse of COVID-19 relief money. David Breen, who now lives in South Carolina, has been charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office with theft of government property after investigators say he used federal business assistance funds for personal purchases.
According to prosecutors, Breen allegedly spent more than $1.2 million in Economic Injury and Disaster Loan (EIDL) money to buy a home, a luxury truck, and a luxury car—all prohibited uses of the federal relief program intended to help businesses survive the economic impact of the pandemic.
If convicted, Breen faces several years in federal prison.
